Rocket Mountain Biking Club

Who are the Rockets?

The Rockets are a non-profit mountain bike (MTB) club based in southwestern Ontario, Canada with members from Essex and Kent counties and southeastern Michigan, USA. Our organization is a member of the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA).

As a club, we host weekly fun rides, training rides, fun races and hold an 8-hour relay citizen event for charity.

If you are new to the wonderful world of mountainbiking, we offer you the chance to get out riding with people of all skill levels and abilities.

The club consists of riders from beginners just learning the sport to competitive expert races. We have a good mix of men, women and children that all partake in our events.

Every off-road cyclist - from the recreational Sunday rider to the Expert XC racer - will enjoy the benefits of a Rocket membership. Many events planned throughout the year make this much more then just another cycling club.

Well folks, summer is half over and with such great weather out, time sure has gone by!

We know you've been waiting for this and it's now only a month away. 8 Creekin Hours is back for another edition at Two Creeks in Wheatley. As you all know, this is this area's premier mountain biking area. With the hard work of the club and volunteers labouring away at the trails to keep them in prestine condition. Add the great weather we've had throughout the spring and summer, the trails look to be in their best shape in years.

The event course is a 9 km loop through the trails of Two Creeks Conservation Area and consists of enjoyable single track, double track and some interesting technical sections. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Friends of Two Creeks and for trail improvement.

The event starts at at 10am sharp rain or shine.

This is an endurance 8 hour relay event. Riders will carry a baton (supplied) on the course which will be presented at the start/finish/timing area to register laps, then passed to the next team member who then continues the next lap. Soloists will keep the baton.

The teams with the most laps after 8 hours in their category will win prizes.

Event timing by WOW MTB for quick accurate results.

Helmets must be worn at all times (pre-ride and racing).
